[He takes a deep breath before letting it back out.]

..I'll be there. [And then she hangs up, taking a moment to just breathe before heading out to the field to wait once the students are gone. ]

[The born wolf paces around for a bit deciding on what to do. A part of him not wanting to meet up with her. Not sure on how he'd react. However, he eventually heads out and when he gets there he just watches her for the moment.]

[She hears him long before she sees him, turning before he comes into view and just watching him right back as he approaches.

Paige doesn't speak, not for several moments but finally.]

The beard suits you, Derek.

[He just leans against one of the bleachers and crosses his arms over his chest watching her. Derek's not sure what to think seeing her. She'd grown up good. It made his heart beat a bit faster and sadness seep through.]

You look good.

So do you.

[Paige brushes her hair back over her shoulder as she meets his gaze.]

[He wants to go to her. Wants to see if she's really there and not some figment of his imagination. That he's not trapped somewhere and being suffocated or tormented. However, he stays right where he's at.]

It's my home, Derek, so yes, I'm liking it here. It hasn't changed that much since I was here as a student. [She's considering moving closer but she doesn't want to push too much.

[Somehow he refrains from laughing at that statement. Beacon Hills changed far more than she could ever imagine.]

How do I know you're even real?

[The whole calling on the phone thing, not proof enough. Not after the whole thing with Stiles and the Nogitsune.]

[Not a question she'd been expecting, Paige quiet for a moment before she exhales a breath. ]

What would it take to prove that I am? Do you want call someone to verify I'm in fact here?

[He frowns slightly before shaking his head.]

Who exactly would I call? There's no one in this town that could verify your existence.

[Though it's possible that Deaton or Peter probably could.]

Call Dr. Deaton, call your uncle. Call my parents and ask them to send you a picture of me from last Christmas. There are ways to verify something like that, Derek.

Or you can just pretend I don't exist if that's easier for you.

[Sorry, but he doesn't trust her parents. They also don't know what the Hales were which means that her parents didn't know what she was.]

I'll call Deaton. Peter can go to hell.

Go ahead. I spoke him not long after I got back into town. [Because there weren't many other people she would have sought out who were aware of her issue. ]

[Those eyes watch her like a hawk even as he calls Deaton. The phone in his hand creaking with the strength of the born wolf as it nearly gets crushed.]

[It's asked after he gets off the phone with the Hale emissary. Though that didn't mean he didn't still want to make sure she was actually there.

The fact the town's been a magnet for a lot of bad things the last couple of years. He was warning me to be aware of things around here, but specifically, the Darach incident, the Nogitsune, the Dead pool thing...

Actually, the place has been a beacon for the supernatural way before you started living here. When I first met you.

[Beacon Hills has always been just that, a beacon. Especially for the supernatural.]

I don't know why he mentioned things to you that are in the past. That's what all of that is, the past.

Because it involved my students? If they need an extra pair of ears, it helps to know things like that.

It doesn't involve your students though, Paige. It's in the past. As in gone. No longer around. If he thought you needed knowledge of what happened here then he should've sent you straight to me.

[He is not happy and it shows, the light reflecting off of golden eyes. Though the eyes seem to return to normal a bit later.]

[Though he still can't bring himself to move closer to her. If she's reading his chemosignals right, she'd know that he wants to but anxiety and maybe even a tinge of anger and fear stop him.]

If he had, would you have even talked to me? You're having a hard enough time doing it right now. [She does though, walk towards him, stopping just within arm's reach.]

[Far as he was concerned he was seeing a ghost. He takes a deep breath before letting it out as she steps closer. A part of him wants to turn and leave, but instead moves over and runs a hand lightly down along her arm.

He feels like he can't breathe and his chemosignals are all over the place. She was really there.]

So it seemed better to get the basics from him. At least as kind of a primer for moving here. Not that I'm looking to get involved in any wars, but when you move back to a war zone. [Paige held still when his hand slid along her arm, aside from a slow inhale.]

[A part of him isn't sure if getting the basics from his uncle was a good thing or not. Maybe going into this blind would've been better. He lets out a breath that he doesn't realize he's holding.]

Considering the last time I saw you, Paige, I still needed to make sure. What do we do from here?

"I keep teaching my class and you decide if you want to ignore me or get to know me again, Derek. It's not that complicated, even if it seems that way.

I'll respect your decision, whatever it turns out to be."
